Dear Sister

Dear sister, I saw your picture.. is a body of work that was produced for an event to benefit Restore NYC, an organization serving survivors of human trafficking.  Each piece is a portrait drawn from an image that was posted in the escorts section of classified ads on the internet.  As I spent time with these girls’ photos, I prayed for the healing of heartache, the embrace of perfect love, and a revelation of an innate sacredness of their soul that cannot be defiled by any act of man.  My hope is that these women and others in the industry may experience a peace over their lives regardless of what’s happened, and to know that their purpose and identity is much more than what this world has told them.
